A magazine for and by the Islanders. FOLKLIFE is a premium semi-annual print publication inspired by island dwellers who live close to the earth, move with intention, and craft life as an art form. Based on Gulf Island living, it is made with minimalist design, matte aesthetic, poetic editorials, and vibrant photography.
Each issue explores one theme through engaging interviews, stories, photographs, recipes, and artwork.
FOLKLIFE gratefully acknowledges that all of this happens within Coast Salish territory, home to the Coast Salish Peoples of Cowichan, Penelakut, Hwlitsum, BOKECEN, Halalt, Homalco, K’omok, Klahoose, Lyackson, MALEXEt, Qualicum, Snuneymuxw, Tsawout, Stz’uminus, and Tla’amin since time immemorial.

With the Canada post strike and holiday shopping we have extended our return window. Orders placed from Nov 15th on are eligible for return until January 20th 2025. Condition of merchandise still applies.

we offer free shipping on Canadian order over $140 and calculated rates for orders below this threshold. Please note select overweight items, such as cast Iron cookware products, are not eligible for free shipping. All Orders are shipped via Canada post or UPS. Orders are currently fulfilled Tuesday-Friday in the order they are received. The speed, cost, and tracking of your package is dependent of the service selected at checkout.
